“A Sandwich Divided Cannot Stand,” 16 x 20 in. oil on paper (JMN 2023).

“Trashing his opponents and setting his huge fan base on them is a tactic Trump has used for years.”

(The Guardian)

The person who commits lèse majesté
on the pugnacious lord of Magalago
incurs a stiff barrage of coo-coo ack-ack
from keyboard hoplites flogging his farrago.

About JMN

I live in Texas and devote much of my time to easel painting on an amateur basis. I stream a lot of music, mostly jazz, throughout the day. I like to read and memorize poetry.

  1. A delightful post – the best thing to do is laugh at the pugnacious lord – let’s hope we see him behind bars!

  2. Love that painting ! And the somewhat surreal verse, esp., the line, “keyboard hoplites flogging his farrago” !

Kind words! Thank you, Peter. I’ve been looking for an occasion to use the word “hoplites,” which I had to look up on first encounter!

      • Ha ha! Lacedaemonian cum Spartan slaves! Something like that… Which reminds me, I must finish reading Plutarch’s life of Lycurgus! Don’t even know where I put the book. So many damned books lying around here. So much unfinished reading!
