Start at the Center

Start at the center of the face
And work outwards
The center’s where the features are
What surrounds is just outline

Start at the center of the center
And work out what
Is where the center starts
What surrounds is more of that

Stare at the center of the…
And work without it
There! The septum flicks
A shadow. Catch it!

Stare at the center of the shadow
And work out what’s done:
The face is gone
Yes! Start Start Start

    “Start at the center” seems like good advice for any situation.

      I agree! Enlarging the principle to embrace life in general seems sound. Centrism — would there were more of it just now, not a howling from extremes.
