LUNES/MONDAY by Azurea20

LUNES
Hay una coqueta
tiranía en la penumbra,
un vigía que no duerme.
Camino ensimismada
con  frío en  los pies
y los ojos fijos al sur.
Este lunes amanece
alienado
mientras limpio
las pequeñas  miserias
que dejó el futuro.

MONDAY
There is a flirtatious
tyranny in the penumbra,
sleepless vigil keeper.
I go lost in thought,
cold of foot,
eyes trained southward.
This Monday dawns
dispossessed;
meanwhile I tidy up
the picayune destitutions
bequeathed by what’s to come.

About JMN

I live in Texas and devote much of my time to easel painting on an amateur basis. I stream a lot of music, mostly jazz, throughout the day. I like to read and memorize poetry.
